The steam locomotive C56 used to color the scenery of the JR Koumi Line. It can be said to be an idol of the Kogen Railway passing through Kiyosato, etc., and the vehicles that were active at that time even when the steam locomotive was abolished are preserved in various places along the Koumi Line.
One such thing is in front of Kiyosato Station. The steam locomotive C56, which had been on the verge of being dismantled, has been refurbished and has been on display since 2009 at Kiyosato Station.
Ten years have passed since the redevelopment. Repainting and maintenance will soon be required, and this year, with the support of the local city of Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, has been decided.
And events are also planned for the redevelopment. A project entitled “Kiyosato Ekimae C56 Makeup Project” will be launched, and a restoration painting and completion ceremony event will be held.
The restoration painting of the C56 is done by professionals, but this time the general public can participate in the final finishing. Currently, crowdfunding of the project has been launched, and if you provide support with a painting participation ticket, you can participate in the final painting at the completion ceremony on November 10.
In crowdfunding, there are also returns such as boarding a commemorative charter train, postcards and commemorative magazines, and you can enjoy making up C56 in various ways. Projects such as projection mapping will be conducted if the funds are raised.
Please participate in the makeup of the steam locomotive C56, which was an idol of the Kogen Railway, in various ways.
